Hey! Still not sleepy in the middle of the afternoon! I know, I know...it's only been two days and I've certainly had two days or more in a row that I didn't get sleepy in the afternoon before, even on days that I haven't had much sleep to work on. And it didn't hurt that my wife showed up at work between picking up kids after school and visited for 15 minutes, or the half hour that I spent chatting with one of my very best friends at the end of the day.
I fully expect that it'll be weeks or months before I recoup enough sleep to see a sustained difference in my physical, mental and emotional well-being. But the "work" required in making the necessary changes in my lifestyle to accommodate getting to bed on time happens now. And I'll take whatever near-term benefits present themselves, even if they're not really directly related...
